How We Do Business

We’re as committed to our staff as we are to our customers. It just makes sense. We believe in making sure our staff has the skills and tools to get the job done right. Our training program covers customer service, marketing skills, safety and more. Most positions are also eligible for retail discounts, free climbing and guest privileges.

Pee Wee Program Instructor

TRC has one of the most developed Junior Programs in the industry and we’re looking to expand!  This is a chance to utilize your creativity, experience, and passion for working with kids.  As a Pee Wee Program Instructor you will work with our Programming Director to build and instruct a daytime children’s program.  Have a look at our Junior Programs to get a better idea of what our programs are at TRC and contact us if you think you could be a part of our future.

Routesetters

No gym can be better than its routes. They’re our product. And no gym anywhere has more varied terrain or features to work with. TRC’s customers demand variety, challenge, creativity and high route turnaround. We do everything we can to keep them happy.

We’re looking to develop our next generation of setters. Have you been setting at a large gym with a professional setting program? Or maybe at a college wall or small gym that didn’t have the resources to let your skills develop? Either way, you pull hard but still remember what it was like to struggle on 9’s. You boulder, but you’re into sport or trad too. And you know the difference between setting for yourself and setting for customers. You that people come in all sizes. Finally, you’re outgoing, great with customers, willing to learn and you want to join TRC’s team. If this sounds like you, drop us a line. We’ll make it worth your time.

Gym Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Group orientation, set-up and belaying for groups, parties & special events
  • General gym maintenance, clean-up duties

Qualifications:

  • Age 15 & up.
  • Charismatic, outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic. You’ll be an ambassador for the sport.
  • Belay proficiency. You’ll need to pass our belay test. If you don’t know how to belay give us a call so we can get you going.
  • Really enjoy working with children, helping them overcome fears & climb successfully
  • Leadership, maturity and judgement. Able to command respect, enforce safety rules. Tactful yet firm in dealing with parents.
  • Previous paid work experience &/or experience working with kid’s groups (e.g., camp counselor, scout leader, etc. Baby sitting is not enough.)

Nuts & bolts

  • Primarily weekends and occasional evenings.
  • Hourly wage based on experience + tips + equipment discounts + TRC’s “free climbing benefit”
